Batteries are the heart of all inverters. It doesn’t matter if you use industrial power inverters, pure sine wave inverters, or modular inverters. It’s only if the batteries are well maintained will the inverter be able to serve you for some time.
Here are some useful tips that keep your inverter batteries well maintained.
1. Do not use faulty batteries
If you notice that your modular inverters’ battery is damaged or has developed some fault, then stop using it. Do not even attempt to use it whit a new battery.
This will only lead to either the entire inverter getting damaged or, in extreme cases, can also lead to an explosion. The best thing to do is to replace the old industrial power inverters’ battery with a new one.
2. Discharge batteries if not in use
There may be times when you may not use your inverter continually for a while. It may be because there is no power outage, but this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t use the modular inverters.
It’s not advisable to leave batteries fully charged in inverters. You need to discharge the batteries at least once a month, mainly if it’s not been used for some time.
3. Battery terminals should not be rusty or corroded
Modern power inverters battery terminals should always be free from rust or any form of corrosion. It is best done by making a mixture of baking soda and hot water and then using an old toothbrush to apply the solution to the battery terminals.
Oiling all metal parts like nuts and bolts with petroleum jelly helps prevent possible rusting. If you wonder why you should avoid battery terminals from rusting or corroding, it’s because it stops the battery’s to and fro electricity flow.
It, in the process, reduces the battery’s performance and, after some time, spoils the modular inverters’ general appearance and beauty.
