An inverter is like any other electrical device; several companies manufacture it, and choosing the right manufacturer can be challenging for those who don’t have experience in the matter. If your organization needs to purchase an inverter but requires assistance evaluating inverter manufacturers, there are three important criteria it can use to make the right choice: equipment certifications, business history of a manufacturer, and the manufacturer’s area of specialization.
Equipment Certifications
The certifications of an inverter define how and where it can be used. For example, a TUV – TL9000 certificate ensures that an inverter complies with international telecommunication standards; a Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) ensures that an inverter doesn’t contain certain substances that could violate Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, and a Network Equipment-Building system certification ensures that an inverter is designed to perform in a specific environment.
Before you choose a manufacturer, check what types of certifications its inverters have. Depending on how and where it will be used, you may need a product that has the certifications above.
Area of Specialization
Does a manufacturer specialize in producing inverters, or are the devices one among many products it manufactures? Ideally, you want to consider buying from inverter manufacturers that invest a significant percentage of time and money toward designing, producing, and selling inverters. Companies that are largely invested in manufacturing inverters will be dedicated to developing superior inverter models.
Business History
You should also assess whether an inverter manufacturer is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Checking the record of a manufacturer at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and interviewing several of its customers are good ways to determine whether your customer experience would be mediocre or excellent. A company that has no unresolved complaints on its BBB record and receives uniformly good reviews from customers typically offers excellent service.
